Rylan has been doing a really cute thing when he first wakes up in the morning lately. Usually I stay in bed longer than Matthew and he is at the computer so he first tells daddy that he sleeped a little bit and he is all done because the sun is rising up and then he asks if he can see if I am ok. It's pretty adorable how he walks in and asks me if I am ok.
This morning Matthew said to him that he looked like such a big boy and Rylan said, "No! I am not a big boy see because I am still little!" .
He then came downstairs with me and asked if I could help him make a circle track (he showed me by making a circle with his arms then a circle with his fingers (looking kind of like the "a-ok" sign))
He got a camera from Grandma and Grandpa Ford and he picked up right away how to aim at people to take pictures. He loves the camera. He goes around taking pictures close up of his trains and tracks and his pj pants and then he aims at people and giggles when he gets a clear shot! He caught on to the concept of light pretty quick too. He was frusterated and shaking his camera when the screen was dark but then I explained once how he needs to take pictures from the direction that doesn't cover the light on his subject. He understood right away! At least it seems like he did!
I bought this claymation dvd when we were on a walk for only 3.99 that Rylan has fallen in love with. He talks about it all the time. We are trying to convince him to go #2 in the potty by telling him we will order the Koala Brother's airplane for him when he does! http://www.koalabrothers.com It hasn't worked yet. We might need to buy it and not let him play with it until he goes #2. We will see....

We were at a thai restaurant last night with Grandpa Don & I gave Rylan some of my 3 star Panang Curry Chicken. Rylan loved it but kept drinking alot of water and exclaimed " the sauce makes our tongue melt so we need to drink lots of water!"
We got him some sticky rice and it formed a ball on his plate all stuck together, he said it looked just like icecream!
All during dinner and before dinner we were telling him that we were going to go get a Christmas Tree later and so when we were done with dinner he yelled to us! "Hurry we need to get in the truck, we can't miss Christmas time! Let's go to Christmas time everyone!"
This morning after we had all the ornaments on the tree rylan looked at it with his face all scrunched up and told us that the lights look like sprinkles when he did that!
I asked him what he dreamt about last night and he said trains and christmas tree lights!

Rylan loves to learn about letters and words and usually is very open and responsive to learning the correct way to say words. There is just one word he insists upon saying wrong. He is just positive that we are all wrong about how to say it. He says "sleeped" instead of "slept". He comes in our bedroom in the morning and tells us that he "sleeped already and he is done" we try to correct him and he gets really feisty! Since this is the only word he does this with it is pretty cute haha

Today Rylan asked me where I was going because I put on my jacket. I told him I was going to the post office and he said, "no mommy! I changed the clock you don't have to go!!!" We have a vintage clock that doesn't work and is within his reach.
Something funny said that he will regret when he has a girfriend one day. He does go potty now, but not #2 and will not do it 100% of the time. He told me today in one of his 10 min babble sessions that "stinky (aka poop) helps him go night night. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sorry Rylan, we have to make fun of you for this one when you are older!

Rylan has started getting really adorably manipulative. Everytime he has any inclination that he might get scolded for something he says "I love you Mom, I love you bunches and bunches" and repeat. This tactic used to work really well, like when he was bothering Alley Cat but now we are onto him!
Tonight when Daddy told him it was time to go to bed he told Daddy his "tummy was talking to him" and he needed "loaf" aka Meatloaf. Awww how cute can this kid be?!

Today rylan asked me to paint his crackers with almond butter.
He has been saying eeder aka either after most everything - ex: No it doesn't eeder
nana told me that he was playing with his spaghetti noodles and held 2 up to eachother and made them have a conversation. The longer one was mama and the shorter one baby.
Nana told him that I was going to Whidbey Island for work and when he talked to me on the phone while I was there he asked if I had a job to do on the island of sodor :)

Rylan is sooooo into trains. He talks about them nonstop! He watches Thomas the Train and knows all the words and all the train's names. He pronounces most words very clearly now but can't seem to get the sound right for saying Percy (Thomas' best friend train) it sounds like a different inappropriate 5 letter word. He is always saying things like "Thomas' best friend p***y" or " I need p***y!" or "Where is p***y?!" I am constantly correcting him in public because everyone turns around to look at who this child's horrible mother is! He also see's train tracks wherever we go. He even turned a vacuum cord into a track. And he has to bring all of his train cars with him everywhere. He sleeps with them and even mutters things about trains in his sleep.
Today he randomly said "Mama I need a Christmas Tree with presents" I started laughing hysterically because it was so cute and unexpected and his face was so serious and he said, " quiet Mama, quiet! I need this!"
Although he has temper tantrums he is still amazingly well behaved. Yesterday I took him to target for a few hours. he stuck by me and then climbed into the cart with some pillows and fell asleep. And woke up cheerful and read to help me find a new broom!
He is very attached to my Dad lately. He always wants to see Grandpapapa. He likes his truck and wants to make pizza with him. Grandpapapa is better at helping him put on his shoes or jacket or sharing his healthy food. Grandpapapa was actually able to get him to eat some plain raw broccoli and lettuce.
He talks about his friends Crystal, Isabelle, Jacob & Juliette all the time. He is good at making new friends and sharing. When he was younger other kids would bully him but he holds his own now without bullying.
We stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Jarvis for a 3 day weekend and he talked about Grandpa Jarvis for days after. He really thought he was cool!
He associates some letters with words. Like he says v for van or t for train and sounds out the letters.
He sits with books and pretends to read them.
Today we walked to the Starbucks close to our house and got a breakfast wrap. There was a baby there and Rylan picked up on the higher excited pitch people talk to babies in and imitated it exactly right. The baby absolutely loved him!
He wants to "try" to do things by himself alot nowadays. He puts the keys in the car door and get's into the car himself and buckles one of the buckles on his seat all by himself.
He can sing the alphabet almost completely and knows all his letters.
he always says Thank you but is and has been very stubborn about saying please for quite some time. He only says it when it is his idea!
